A dish head, also called dished head, is a common end closure for jacketed kettles, tanks and pressure vessels, made by integral stamping from stainless steel.
It combines a shallow spherical crown and a straight knuckle transition. Compared with a spherical head, it costs less, is easier to form and process, and has a lower height. Its smooth inner surface avoids dead corners, ensures hygienic discharge and easy cleaning, suitable for ordinary atmospheric or low-pressure processing equipment.
With reasonable stress distribution, it provides reliable pressure resistance and stable thermal conductivity. It is widely used in common jacketed kettles, storage tanks and mixing tanks, balancing economy, structural strength and sanitary requirements in food and chemical factories.
